Tuesday, June 23, 2009: Mozilla Thunderbird Update

On Tuesday, June 23, 2009, CFANS-OIT will be updating Thunderbird e-mail clients to a minimum version of


Users are asked to log off their computers at the end of the day (rather than shutting them down). Those who are unable to log off on Tuesday evening will be contacted individually about receiving the update.

SCCM will be used to update your Thunderbird e-mail client to version remotely while you are logged off of your computer. This process will begin after 6:00 p.m. on June 23, 2009.


This is mainly a security update and should have minimal impact on your experience using Thunderbird. If you are currently using a newer version of Thunderbird than, your machine will not be updated.
