February 28, 2010: SAS license update deadline
Audience: SAS users
Action: Contact CFANS OIT
If you have updated your SAS license code you can disregard the rest of this message.
For those who have SAS installed and have not taken action yet, your SAS license code will expire after 2/28/2010. Failure to update will cause a disruption in your ability to use this application and will require a full reinstallation of SAS.
Each February, the license code must be updated when the vendor supplies the University with the update or the program will stop functioning. This does not mean you need to purchase a new license - you only need to purchase a new license once a year, and the Software Licensing group at the University will notify you via e-mail when it is time to renew.
Updating SAS License CodeTo update the license code, locate the e-mail message you received from the OIT Software License Program (firstname.lastname@example.org) and follow the instructions. If you need help with the update, contact CFANS OIT at email@example.com with the following information:
1. A copy of the e-mail you received from firstname.lastname@example.org.
2. The nine-digit number of the U of M gold asset sticker CFANS OIT affixes to all CFANS computers.
CFANS OIT will deploy the license code update to you over the network or via Bomgar.
If you did not receive an e-mail message from the Software Licensing group (email@example.com) about updating your SAS license code, but you have an installation of SAS that displays a notice that it requires an update, contact the Software License Program at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have questions about the information contained in this message, contact email@example.com.
