  I am so glad you have brought this point to the table. Every time I see a commercial for these bracelets, I wonder how people could be so gullible to actually believe they will improve their athletic abilities. Like you said, they are the perfect example of a placebo. There seems to be no scientific proof that these bracelets are even functional. They simply sell because these company's are excellent marketers and force peoples minds into thinking do....

  I both disagree and agree with your blog entry. As some one who was diagnosed with ADD before it was delegated to just ADHD I have seen the whole debate play out. I definitely believe ADHD is often mis-diagnosed and many people who are diagnosed with it today have attention problems related to there natural home environment. I also know that many people on my dads side of my family suffer including my dad from ADD related educational difficulties just like I have had in the past, however my own problems were also related to Dyslexia which I was diagnosed...

  I always see commercials promoting these bracelets and every time I ask myself, "do they really work?" Part of me wanted to purchase this item but deep down inside I knew they were to good to be true. This shows what a great job the marketing team is doing because so many people still purchase these bracelets. They are doing a great job at convincing these people without any scientific proof behind the bracelets. This is a perfect example of the placebo effect....

  I have a lot of different thoughts about this article. I think parenting styles do have a great deal of impact, but I also think that genetics and nutrition have a lot to do with it as well. Our generation is extremely unhealthy as it is, and the chemicals in a lot of the foods we are feeding people have very negative effects, both physical and mental. Diseases have been affected by these chemicals, and as I have learned in my Biology class, some genetic diseases caused by mutations in DNA are not activated until a person intakes a chemical...

  Like most people on here, I've seen plenty of people believe in these bands and one of my roommates bought one. I had him explain why he got it and he said something to the effect of this: "Well, the guy told me to twist around as far as I could go. He marked it, then put the bracelet on and had me do it again and I was more flexible so I bought it."
