False memory can happens to anyone.Sometimes when you recalling something that happened in the past, most people pretty sure their memory is right. However, does it hundred percent correct?
I remember there is a time, that me and my cousin,we went out at night to take a break after dinner.I remember that she is the one who was riding the bicycle and me the one who sat on the back of the bike. And we were talking about one of our friend - Lisa. She said that Lisa is the type of girl that sometimes can be really hard to get along with, and I agreed with her right after she said that. However, this are just my memory.According to my cousin, she said she remember that I am the one who was actually riding the bike and said that Lisa is hard to deal with.Well, whose memory is the one that correct?
Before comparing my memory with my cousin's.I was hundred percent sure that all I can remember about that night are correct. But,after the comparison,I started to doubt that whether my memory is right or not."Am I right? Am I right?"I kept asking my self these questions,"Maybe I am the one who was riding that bike..Am I?"Well, this is a question that maybe I can never come up with the accurate answer. But it does shows that our memory is not perfect. All I was interesting in is that why do human have false memory. And is there a way to get rid of it?If so,how?

False memory had sometimes occur to me. I remembered when I was talking to my friend about the night that we went out together. He told me that I was the one driving the car and I was pretty sure that he was driving. I think the reason why human have false memory because there are too many things in our mind, and many events have occurred in our lives, that's why sometimes we can't recall it correctly. I don't think there's a specific way to get rid of it because We all have memories that are inaccurate.

In reality all memories are slightly false. This is because your brain slightly changes memories every time they are retrieved. This makes them easily susceptible to changes based on personal bias or what others tell us. This makes me question all eyewitness accounts. Should any of them really be trusted?

I think it is important to keep in mind that our memories are fallible. You give a great example of a time this might have happened, which maybe gives you some understanding of how something like the Paul Ingram case could happen. However, I think in most cases, these inconsistencies in our memories are not harmful, though we might get in arguments with our friends about who is right!

I don't think we can get rid of the "false memory." I've certainly tried, but it's pretty much impossible. Another way that we can have a false memory is thinking of something that we thought happened to us, but in actuality, it was something that someone had told us, or we had dreamt it (I get that one a lot). I had a friend who told my group of friends a lot of stories that he thought happened to him, and then later he said that it was actually a few of his friends that the event(s) happened to!

I am forever plagued by false memories! My brain is constantly remembering things in a slightly different way than others involved in the same situation and I used to find it really frustrating. Psychology has helped me to understand though that it's not uncommon and makes me feel a little better about my "faulty" memory!

I have definitely been a victim of false memories, especially if it's a story I've heard a family member tell numerous times--I genuinely start to believe I was there even if I wasn't even born yet! What a strange concept to think that humans have the ability to create a thought and believe it wholeheartedly, knowing it never happened.

I think that most memories may in fact be false simply because each person will pay attention to the things they consider most important in any particular situation and when you try to recall those situations you will vividly remember the elements you focused on and the mind will fill in the minor details which i feel would have the most variation if several people compared memories of the same event. (Real memories anyway, not implanted false memories)
