A concept in psychology that I think I'm going to remember five years from now is the concept in Development ; it's called "Habituation", meaning that decreasing in responding to a stimulation with longer exposure. Basically it's saying that the more you're exposing to something the more you will get used to it. I'm going to remember this concept in psychology because I think it's really interesting concept. Even though, you're uncomfortable with things that you're being exposed to, but after a while being exposed to it, you will feel normal. So that's why I think this concept is amazing when I really think about it, and I'm going to remember this concept for a long period of time .

I like this concept to. I sometimes experience it when I pay very close attention to things that I normally would just accept as normal. I also used to experience it a lot without knowing it when I would say a word over and over again until it started to sound weird. This is the same because I got used to just accepting that that was how words were spoken.
How do developmental psychologists use this concept in their research? It also seems to explain how we might get used to a bad smell, or sounds, and not even notice these annoying things after awhile!
Whenever I hear something and I try to tune it out I always tell myself to become habituated to it instead of sensitized to it! I will always remember this concept as well
