In the next five years optical illusions will always bring me back to the visual perception concept of psychology. Optical illusions not only represent the concept of visual perception, but they are also very fun to be amazed by. When I think about psychology in its simplest of terms, I think about how our mind interprets information in our surrounding environment. This brings me back to the optical illusion situation that plays into our visual perception field. Even before this class, optical illusions reminded me of psychology. So it only seems right that in five years from now illusions such as pictures or magic tricks will bring me back to the concept of visual perception. From here I'm sure I will be reminded of different topics discussed in lecture or discussion. This will give me a more in depth knowledge of what is actually happening in my mind when I see an optical illusion. Before this course I would only be able to marvel at how impressive illusion artwork was. Now I will understand and display my understanding to others. I have always been intrigued on understanding how things work in life. I am very glad that this course has given me a skill set and background necessary to break down psychological information.

Optical Illusions have been something that I have always been interested in too. I look at them and try to see the different variations that others see. I try to create reasons for why I see it one way but someone else has seen it another way. Optical Illusions will be something that will always "trick" me and I will always be amused by them.
Optical Illusions are really neat. I really like them, especially when I'm bored and want to be entertained. The most amazing optical illusions though are magic tricks. They are so believable! but all they are are illusions.
Optical illusions have always amazed me. Ever since I was in 2nd grade, I remember reading books on M.C. Escher and other such artists. It amazed me what we are able to do with paper and a pencil. I think that I will always be interested in optical illusions because they are one of the only things that are not contextually black and white. You can see them in many different ways. (Boxes that are able to switch directions when you start focusing on a different point). I will always remember a video in my Astronomy class during my Junior year of high school. We watched a video on what the universe looks like and the video showed a giant 3D Hexagonal shape and each time you entered a new face of the object, it would turn into another hexagonal figure..it was definitely an optical illusion. So, you could consider the Universe itself to be an optical illusion. That is why I enjoy optical illusions.
It is interesting because the sensation and perception chapter is such a foundation for other areas of psychology...Our perception is impacted by our learning, social situations, memory, personality...It is a good area to remember because it applies to so many other areas of psychology!
Reading that reminds me of a book I have read recently called the Night Circus. There are described various methods of the illusions art and it is obvious that they all are based on science not on magic. Great post!
