Happiness

Hi, I am Emily Chen, currently a high school senior, and I'll be attending UMN in the fall.
And right now, I am completely and blissfully happy.
You know those days when at first, you think it's a normal day, but all of a sudden, everything falls together? Everything goes right, and for a fleeting few hours, you are on top of the world.
That's what happened today, and I felt like I had to document my happiness, so I could remember it on those days when life is exactly the opposite, when you fail your calc test, crash during physics, and spill your electrophoresis buffer all over your lab notebook.
Happy thing 1: National Merit scholarship! Although I am convinced that College Board will haunt me for the rest of my life, misspell my name constantly, and give me the most boring tests imaginable, I thank them for the PSAT.
Happy thing 2: I am finally getting a laptop! Even better, not a sketchy, suspiciously cheap notebook that my dad obtained somewhere in China (which is exactly what happened with my flute, which is old and icky and has really loud pads. I do not recommend buying important things from crappy stores in China) but a completely legit Dell from the Studio line. I am so excited; I've wanted a laptop for forever.
Happy thing 3: I am getting AutoCAD for freeeee!
Happy thing 4: My Western blots are working! I am getting DATA again! For the longest time my blots wouldn't image, and I would get these crazy smudges. But now my troubles are ending. (About time!)
Happy thing 5: Prom is tomorrow. Today, at least, I have the excitement of anticipation without having to even consider the reality that prom is actually...kind of boring.
And additionally, it's Friday, so I can procrastinate my lab and problem set for orgo! Fantastic.
And last, I love NMR. This is the most amazing spectra site EVER.
