Event: 6th Annual Italian Film Festival, March 6-9 2014

The Italian Cultural Center is pleased to extend an invitation to attend its 6th annual Italian Film Festival. In collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Chicago, the ICC will bring prominent contemporary Italian feature films to the Twin Cities.

The film festival will be held March 6th through 9th, 2014. A variety of recently released Italian films will take moviegoers on a spectacular journey through the landscapes and stories of Italy and its people.

Opening Friday, May 10: Caesar Must Die. After multiple sell-out screenings, this 2013 MSP International Film Fest darling returns for a theatrical run! Winner of the Golden Bear at the 2012 Berlin Film Festival, Caesar Must Die follows the inmates of the high-security Rebibbia prison as they put on a breathtaking and vivid performance of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Critically lauded, this festival highlight is an absolute must-see.

Andrea Ciccarelli is Professor of Italian at Indiana University. He has published widely on Italian literature and culture, with a particular emphasis on modern and contemporary writers. His current book projects are on Exile, Migration, Borders in Contemporary Italian Culture and Tradition and Innovation in Modern Italian Culture. Andrea Ciccarelli is the editor of Italica, the quarterly journal of the American Association of Teachers of Italian.
