At this year's Latina/o graduation ceremony, the department awarded a $500 scholarship for the Best Essay in Chicano Studies to Idalia Robles De León for her essay, "Las hijas de NAFTA: The Effects of Transnational Economic Policy on the (Me)Xican@ Community."
