Today when I came in I had cathy sign and look over my directed research contract to hand in in order to gain credit. I informed her that I plan to work in the Carlson Lab again this upcoming fall semester. I spent most of my time entering data today. I finished inputting the data for all of the participants in the PDEF study we have so far. Then, I started entering some of the parent data including the grit scale responses. Since the grit scale is usually filled out by the person being observed or tested, I am wondering the validity of it since the parents are filling it out in this case for their children. I understand that it would not make sense for three and five year olds to fill out a questionnaire about themselves but could some parents possibly be biased toward their own children when answering questions about them? Just a thought :)
