On Saturday I ran my first PDEF session with Rachel. One family had to reschedule, and their daughter was a little bit too old for the study, so I ran the session to practice. Both parents, the participants, and her baby brother came to the session. The participant seemed very clingy, so her mother stayed in the room off to the side while I ran the tasks. I was surprised in this session because the participant did not want to do any of the tasks. The only task that we completed was the PPVT. However, after talking to Rachel I realized that I would ask, "Do you want to play a different game?" when really it would be better to say, "Okay! Now we're going to play a new game!" Hopefully I can make some adjustments and the next session will run more smoothly.
Today I recruited 6-year-olds for the Psych Distancing study. I was able to schedule 4 families, and mailed them welcome packets.
