Today I got back into calling for the BMI study. I first tried to reschedule the missed appointments and unfortunately the parents were no longer interested in participating. I then returned all the messages that were left when I was out of town and was unable to reach any of those parents either. I called about 20 4 year old families and was finally able to schedule the last 4 year old male! I then started calling in the 6 year old age group. and called about 60 families and was only able to schedule one person. There was about an hour of time where I was unable to even get a hold of someone on the phone. Working on recruitment for this study has taught me how much time and resources it takes to conduct a study. I have only been calling for this study since I started at this lab and have only schedule about 10 people to participate!
