This afternoon I called for psych distancing. I was able to get in touch with a lot of parents, but only scheduled one since a lot of families are going on vacation at the end of the summer. At 5:00 I ran a 4-year-old girl. She seemed interested inthe games until we got to the dccs. She wanted to be with her mom, so her mom was in the room for the rest of the session. She didn't do any of the computer tasks, but did the ppvt at the end of the session. It seems like 4-year-olds' behavior can be really variable, and it was close to dinner time, so I think that the participant was just tired.

Today I came in and recruited 6-year-olds for Psych Distancing. I scheduled three families to come in July and early August. I left messages with families who had already been called once. I also went through all of the appointment sheets and added reminder phone numbers into the black book, since I noticed that not all appointments were added. Afterward, I ran a Psych Distancing session with a 6-year-old girl. She was very talkative, and I thought that the session went well! I had a hard time writing down the follow-up questions after the Work Task, so that is something that I will work on for the next session (tomorrow).
Today I came in and put the new call list from Josh on the server. I recruited 6-year-olds, and scheduled 3 families to come in the next two weeks. I noticed that the CBQ is now only 20 questions, and just wanted to make sure that the copy we're sending is the correct version!

Today I came in to work on Psych Distancing. Hannah was recruiting 4-year-olds, and I saw that only one number was left to call on the six-year-old list. Cathy showed me how to request a new call list last week, so I did that and hopefully we will have a new list soon! Afterwards, I went to lab meeting to discuss two papers - one on attention training in 5-year-olds and one on self-transcending meditation. I took the MBSR class at the U last semester, so it was interesting to have personal experience to reflect upon while reading the second article.
Today I came in to run a Psych Distancing session, but the family did not show up. Instead, i called 4-year-olds and recruited two families.
Today I meet with Cathy to talk about what project I will be working on for e rest of the summer. I will be working on the psych distancing study, and started recruiting 4-year-olds today. I was able to schedule three families and mailed them welcome packets. After, I went to lab meeting. I am looking forward to working on the psych distancing study more this summer, since I will be able to run more sessions and my schedule is more open.
Today I worked on entering the last of the Infant Feeding data. I entered the anthropometric data for the rest of the 2 week and 3 month visits, and the siblings' BMIs. I have really enjoyed working on the Infant Feeding study these past two months, particularly since I had not worked on a study with adults or babies before! Next week I am meeting with Cathy to discuss what I will be doing in the lab for the rest of the summer.
