Analysis entry on leads
The lead is important because it sets the image of the story for its reader. An effective news lead should have "The Five W's" in the sentence; which are who, what, when, where, and why. The lead should be detailed in what happened.
The writer should use action verbs to write an active sentence. Moreover, subject-verb-object sentence structure will make the lead sentence stronger.
