Summer in the Cities
I am giving myself a little room to complain here about summer in Minnesota! Last summer, I had the complete luxury of spending the summer in Portland, OR, where the hot temperatures come without humidity and don't last so long. In fact, one interesting thing about Portland is that when it's hot, it's NOT rainy, whereas here, summer heat often comes with thunderstorms. I'll take a Portland summer any day.
Yesterday, it started to rain on our way home. I was driving my dad's car (he's visiting), which has A/C, unlike our own car, so I didn't notice how humid it was. When I got out of the car, I was standing on the hot and steamy asphalt feeling more like I was in a Finnish sauna than on a street in South Minneapolis!
What makes thing worse is that our house is pretty hot and sticky. Our landlord hasn't put the air conditioners in yet, so we have to rely on open windows and fans, but not while we're gone. Last year, our house was broken in to, so we're pretty sensitive about security.
It's not that I even mind the heat so much as the linger of moisture in the air. Last summer, I didn't even care about the heat when it was in the upper 90s--but it was also dry. I feel like the humidity just sucks me down.
Anyway, today doesn't even seem that hot--just sticky. And then there's the mosquitoes--don't even get me started!! Those little bugs irritate me to no end! Someone told me they don't like garlic so I'm going to work on upping my garlic intake this summer (pure torture--ha!).

I am 100% with you on the complaints about MN summers. My "it's not so bad" friends are going to be reminding me how wet and cool this spring was, but that does not change the fact that the rest of the time is miserable... ;-)

Big fan of Pinterest right now even though there do not seem to be a lot of guys on there to adhere to. This guide did help me as I used to be a little confused on the pinned, followed, and so on plus what the boards are ideal used for. Thanks to the Pinterest tips and I am heading to abide by BuzzRaid on Pinterest.

Great submit Alia. I often knew guest blogging for others is actually a great way to generate new traffic and Google Bot really like but thanks for pointing out the other side of that: Having others guest submit on your blog. Those benefits are definitely compelling as, of course the author is then likely to weblink to you. Very good stuff.

I would not waste my time with Squidoo. I wrote a put up just recently here (the post before this one) about the nightmare I had with them. If you build something up with Squidoo, be prepared to lose it suddenly for no reason. I cannot say anything about Hubpages as I only possess a few and those I have pretty much deserted.

Thanks for the comment Sheila. Yes, in my humble opinion those who say e cigs are worse than regular cigarettes are wrong! The skeptics argue there is not enough data to even make a statement like that. The doctors seem to endorse it and I would say they have more credibility than me, but the fact of the matter is you and your husband should do your own research and make and make an informed decision. The decision is yours and yours alone.
