Done, and done!!

Well, things never go exactly as planned, do they? When I was entering the data for my dissertation, I didn't really think that 22 days later, I would have defended my dissertation and now be Dr. Minneapolismama. But, I did, and I am.

I'm still taking it all in. The speed in which things happened had more to do with my adviser, than with me, although I'm certainly glad to be done. My adviser is going on phased retirement, and he will be in California for spring semester. I'll be surprised if he's around for graduation, although maybe he'll be back in Minnesota by May. But anyway, he figured, let's get this thing done before he leaves. So we did.

Now that I'm done, what next? Well, I'm happy with my job, so no changes there. I'm going to start sewing--something I've wanted to learn for some time. And, I'm planning to spend a weekend on a lake in Minnesota at some point as a little reward. That's about it.

I just received my email from AT&T. I rejailbroke my iPhone with all the latest edition of Redsn0w on 5.0.1 and unchecked "Install Cydia" since was already there after which chose "DeActivate" . After it was completed, I plugged into iTunes. It went to activation and i got the "Congratulations You Unlocked Your iPhone" message. The phone is unlocked and still jailbroken on 5.0.1. Just use "Deactivate" while jailbreaking and you may not need to retore to 5.1 and lose the jailbreak. Worked perfect for me.

"Also, many missionary children resent some time they spend away from their parents, and they resent the mission function that took their parents away from them. New Tribes has usually been aware of the and has been sensitive to their families." NOT TRUE. NTM has not often been sensitive to this! Were it not for your brave Fanda kids who put it out there NTM would still be covering up the horrendous pain and damage done to children at their boarding schools. Breaking friends and family ties is not a christian value. Seeing your parents for a bit of respite for the parents to have away from the rigors of language learning or whatever is not called raising your child. Kids were second, even third, on the list of important things in the NTM I lived under.
