A Rally in L.A.
The Los Angeles Times reports that thousands of people marched on Saturday through downtown Los Angeles. It was a pro-immigrant march that consisted of an estimated 7,000 to 10,000 people. Its intention was to prove to critics that the immigrants right movement was not dead, the report said.
The Canada.com website has an article that said people carried signs saying "Amnesty Now" and danced to Mexican Ranchera music. The article reports that immigrant rights advocates say the illegal immigrants feel betrayed by Bush, who is someone they had considered an ally at first.
