Have you heard about the InCommons Collaboration Challenge?

InCommons is an online and in-person initiative to provide resources and connections to foster collaboration among courageous leaders in Minnesota who are addressing problems in their communities.

The InCommons Collaboration Challenge kicks off the project with the chance to share the innovative collaborative work already happening in Minnesota (and the chance to receive $25K!). As of today, 35 collaborations have entered the Challenge and 21 collaborations have been nominated.

You can submit and nominate entries online at the InCommons Collaboration Challenge website. The nominating process is very simple--just tell InCommons why you are nominating the collaboration and InCommons will follow up and encourage them to enter.

Submitting a collaboration is also straightforward--simply answer questions about your collaboration, what you are working on, who you are working with, and what you are trying to accomplish.

If you want to see an example of an entry, or you are just excited to see what is going on around Minnesota, all entries and nominations can be read on the website and discussed online. The entries that have been posted on the site tell the story of many of the great integrative leaders and their work around our state.

What is the timeline? Well, the deadline for entries and nominations is October 29, 2010 (next Friday!), so it's best to start your entry or nomination ASAP! A panel of judges will review the entries and select three finalists by November 30th.

Each finalist will have a professional video made of their collaboration, really a prize in itself! Then, Minnesotans will have until December 10, 2010 to vote online for their favorite collaboration. The winning collaboration will receive $25K to continue, expand, or replicate their work!

This is a wonderful way to participate, share, and highlight examples of integrative collaboration throughout the state. Please visit the InCommons Collaboration Challenge site at: http://www.incommons.org/collaborationchallenge/!

The Center for Integrative Leadership at the University of Minnesota is partnering with the Bush Foundation and a number of Minnesota organizations (Ashoka's Changemakers, Minnesota Community Foundation, Minnesota Council of Churches, Minnesota Public Radio, The Saint Paul Foundation, Twin Cities Public Television, Walker Art Center, and Wilder Foundation) around the InCommons Initiative.
