Graduate Student Commencement Ceremony for Arts, Sciences, and Engineering

Faculty are invited to participate in the joint commencement ceremony for graduate students in the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Science and Engineering, the College of Biological Sciences, the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences, and the Medical School basic science departments.

The ceremony will replace the two annual commencement ceremonies formerly held by the Graduate School.

Arts, Sciences, and Engineering Graduate Commencement Ceremony
Friday, April 29, 2011
2 p.m. (faculty participants gather at 1 p.m.)
Mariucci Arena (NOTE VENUE CHANGE)
1901 Fourth Street S.E., East Bank

Participation
The ceremony will begin with a faculty procession leading the graduates into Mariucci Arena. We will reserve special seating near the stage for all faculty participants (due to the new venue, we will have very limited space on stage compared to Northrop Auditorium). If you can join us, please complete the Faculty Regalia Order Form. Because of the lead time required to obtain regalia, it is important that you complete the form by Thursday, March 31, 2011.

Special Roles
Faculty members who would like to play a special role in the ceremony are invited to serve as faculty marshals. Faculty marshals bear the University Mace and several flags, and hood doctoral candidates onstage. If you would like to participate in this manner, please contact Jill Johnson (612-625-0721). If you have other questions about commencement, please contact Wendy Friedmeyer, CLA's representative to the committee.

We look forward to your participation in this important event.
