Bomgar - weird name, killer app.

Scenario: you're working from home and a new browser update requires administrator authentication. You can constantly dismiss the annoying notification or join up in a screen share and let the CLA-OIT Service Desk take care of the update.

We can support you--whether you're in your office, at the cabin, or in Italy--with Bomgar, a useful but oddly named remote control screen sharing tool. Bomgar allows us to see what you see on your screen, when you're one building away or many continents away.

Save Time, Save Frustration

Bomgar simplifies support. What might take 15 minutes to describe and discuss on the phone can be accomplished in just a couple of minutes using a screen share. What's that saying? Seeing is believing?

Through a screen share we can work through a computer problem with you, explain features or issues, or even have a mini-training session.

Not Big Brother

With Bomgar, you initiate a support session. CLA-OIT staff can only respond to a request for remote support.

When you close a Bomgar session all software related to the screen share is deleted from your computer, removing remote access.

Get Started with Bomgar

To use Bomgar all you need is a web browser and a standard high-speed Internet connection.

CLA-OIT Service Desk staff are logged into Bomgar during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Join us in the CLA-OIT Bomgar Support Portal by following the instructions below. As always, you can give us a call at 4-HELP (612-624-4357).

From a PC

* Call the CLA-OIT Service Desk at 612-624-4357 (4-HELP)
* Using Internet Explorer go to http://support.cla.umn.edu
* We'll tell you which CLA Support Representative to select
* When prompted, click Run to download the Bomgar software
* You will be prompted to click Run one more time
* Welcome to the CLA-OIT Bomgar Support Portal

From a Mac

* Call the CLA-OIT Service Desk at 612-624-4357 (4-HELP)
* Using Safari go to http://support.cla.umn.edu
* We'll tell you which CLA Support Representative to select
* Safari will download the Bomgar installer and the Bomgar software application will open
* Double click the Bomgar install application
* Welcome to the CLA-OIT Bomgar Support Portal.
