Did you know that our out-of-state students leave the University at higher rates during their first year? The Office of Undergraduate Education and Orientation & First-Year Programs are starting a new initiative, @ Home in MN.
@ Home in MN is a program designed to connect students with other students from their state and/or region, connect with faculty, staff and upperclassmen, and assist students in accessing resources to support their transition. Ultimately we would like to enhance the student experience and improve student retention.
Students need to connect with someone like you! The Class of 2015 has students from more than 40 different states. We need you to volunteer!
As a volunteer, your role will be to serve as a resource for new students. The time commitment includes attending the Kick-Off event for all out-of-state students being held on Monday, September 19 in the DQ Club Room in the TCF Bank Stadium. The event will begin at 3:30 p.m. and end before 5:30 p.m. At this event you will be asked to mingle and socialize with students from a state of your choice. There also may be one or two other activities that you could attend during the fall semester, including college specific events.
