CLA to Host First-Ever Senior Celebration

The College of Liberal Arts will host its first-ever Senior Celebration on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the McNamara Alumni Center. The Senior Celebration recognizes the achievements of CLA's summer 2011 and fall 2011 graduates in the presence of their family, friends, and faculty members.

CLA faculty members are invited to attend the Senior Celebration and can RSVP online by Monday, December 5, 2011.

The Senior Celebration will be divided into three 90-minute receptions from 3:00 - 8:30 p.m. based upon major.

Graduates and guests will enjoy light refreshments, mingle with faculty and staff representatives from their major department and other CLA disciplines, listen to the music of the Reid Kennedy Trio (a CLA alum!), and pick up their diploma cover. In addition, each reception will include a short program featuring remarks by CLA Dean Jim Parente, a student graduate, and an a capella performance by a university student organization.

As you may already be aware, this year will be the first time that the college will not host a traditional commencement ceremony in December. All 2011-12 CLA graduates will be invited to participate in CLA's Spring Commencement on Sunday, May 13, 2011 at Mariucci Arena.

For more information about the Senior Celebration, please visit the Senior Celebration website. Other CLA community members who wish to attend are encouraged to email the Senior Celebration Planning Committee.
