P&A Promotions:

The deadline for P&A Promotions has been extended to March 11, 2008. This is an extension of the previously published deadline of February 1, 2008.

2008-2009 Pay Plans:

The 2008-2009 Pay Plans are now available for the following employee groups:

  • Academic Salary Memo
  • Civil Service
  • Teamsters Unit 3
  • AFSCME Health Care Unit 4
  • AFSCME Clerical Unit 6
  • AFSCME Technical Unit 7
  • Undergraduate Students

Technology Grant Reimbursements

To request a reimbursement for a technology grant, please go to the student technology fee website, and follow the instructions:

  • Click on Faculty & Staff on the left navigation menu.
  • Click on "Log In" on the expended Faculty & Staff navigation menu (also on the left).
  • You will enter your UMN Internet ID (x.500) and password.
  • You will then see an option labeled "Unit Proposals," also on the left. Click on that link.
  • You should see a listing of proposals that have been submitted by folks within the unit(s) you support.
  • You will see an dollar sign icon in the far right column.
  • Click on the dollar sign, in the row associated with the project.
  • Complete the reimbursement request form, upload digital documentation or campus mail, and fax your documentation to CLA-OIT.

This triggers a work flow process between CLA-Office of Information Technology (which manages the technology grant programs) and CLA Fiscal Administration, resulting in a transfer of funds.

Reimbursement requests are queued up and disbursements are made prior to tip charges. You will be notified through an automated message when the transaction is complete.

Faculty and Research - 2008 Annual Review Submission Deadlines:

  • Annual Reviews of Faculty Performance - 24 March 2008

    Effective spring 2008, all faculty activity reports and curricula vitae must be submitted electronically.

    FARs and CVs should be submitted as separate files; pdf attachments strongly preferred.

IRIS Entry Training and Spring 2008 Entry Deadline:

The deadline for spring 2008 IRIS entry is March 10th.

We have scheduled IRIS entry training for all new staff, staff new to IRIS, and anyone else who would like to learn more about the system.

The training is scheduled for Monday, February 11th from 2:00-3:30 in Rm 202 Johnston Hall.

EFS Chart of Accounts (COA) Mapping Update

This is a reminder that as of February 1, 2008, all new requests for non-sponsored CUFS accounts in the current system will need to also provide the EFS/Peoplesoft account string (Fund, DeptID, Program and Optional Chartfields) in the NOTES section of the chart of accounts request form.

Requests that do not include the EFS account string will be returned by the Controller's Office.

All COA requests should be routed to Peggy Buckley (mab@umn.edu) for college approval. She will work with you to help determine the appropriate EFS/Peoplesoft account string.

The EFS Chart of Accounts for the college is being finalized, including the requested optional CHARTFIELD 2 values. If you have need for additional Chartfield 2 values that were not included in the original mapping last spring, please contact:
Cathy de Ranitz, (burke020@umn.edu).

A list of new EFS account strings that were mapped last spring will be sent to departments shortly.
