Blanket Job Postings
Academic Year 2008-09 Term
Faculty and P&A Instructional Blanket Job Postings will be
automatically "Removed From the Web" per University guidelines on June
30, 2009.
In order to close (hires made) or cancel (no hires made) the postings, applicant statuses need to be changed for all applicants who have applied. Please change the statuses accordingly and contact CLA HR (clahr@umn.edu) when there are zero active applicants on the requisition. CLA HR will then work with the Office of Human Resources to close or cancel each requisition accordingly.
TIP (Temporary Investment Pool) charges of 8% will be assessed on 6/30/09 deficit balances of more than $15,000 at the Fund-DeptId level.
If you need to invoice the Foundation to cover deficits, the UM Foundation deadline is noon on Friday, June 12. Signed invoices must be received via fax (5-4305) at the Foundation by noon. However, submit invoices as early as possible to avoid delayed processing and in the event of errors that may need correction. Contact Rose Pederson (6-7611, r-kerb@umn.edu) for questions related to TIP and for UM Foundation invoicing questions.
Due to the decrease in endowment values, there is a new model for how McMillan Travel funding will be awarded to units for FY10.
We
plan to award a similar amount for faculty ($375 per) and P&A staff
($200 per) as in the past. However, there is a change to how we count
the number of faculty and P&A. In prior years we provided faculty
funding based on faculty lines, whether filled,
or on sabbatical
or phased retirement. This year we will not provide McMillan funding
for vacant lines, unpaid leaves, and the % of leave for phased retirees
(as of spring 2009.)
McMillan funding for P&A in the past was based on printed budget headcount, whether filled or unfilled. This year the college will provide funds based on headcount for filled P&A positions as of Spring 2009.
Fiscal Administration will provide a preliminary list to department administrators prior to the budget letters for their review and response to any discrepancies.
Fund Statements in DMS now have links to the MOA (Memorandum of Agreement). Click on "View Documents" on upper right side of fund statements, then roll-over the date to see a pdf.
Are you wondering what your 21st Century Graduate Fellowship match amounts will be? Check the "Fund Group Summary" report in DMS, select "21st Century Graduate Fellowships" and enter your department/s.
The "Spendable" column currently includes the April 2008-March 2009 spendable amounts. This is the total match you will receive in EFS this July 2009.
You should run this report prior to the April allocation (June 1) or the spendable amount will no longer be accurate.
Contact Rose Pederson (6-7611, r-kerb@umn.edu) if you have further questions about this report.June 18
