Faculty Summer Research Support

Effective immediately, a revised request form for faculty summer salary is in effect. Changes to the form include 1) a space to identify other sources of summer funding; and 2) clarification of the applicable rates for use in fringe calculations.

Requests for summer research support should be submitted to the Office of the Associate Dean for Faculty and Research at least one month prior to the start of the pay period desired for the summer support.  The revised request form may be found on the Forms and Documents page of the CLA Administration website or by clicking on this link: Summer Research Support Request_2010.doc

CRP Task Force

The Computer Replacement Program (CRP) is in need of rethinking and improvement, so CLA-OIT is establishing a task force to examine the program from top to bottom. The project objective is to improve the process to allow for advanced planning, better budgeting, and a better customer experience. To accomplish this, we are looking for a few volunteers to represent the interests of CLA's departments and administrative units. The team is expected to meet regularly over the summer and produce process, policy, and other recommendations by the end of July. If interested, please inform Jamey Hansen.

Google Migration Team

CLA-OIT is looking for a volunteer to join the Google Apps Migration project team. We want someone to represent an organizational and end user perspective on the planning team--no technical expertise necessary. Together with the other members of the team (Jamey Hansen, Karen Swoverland, Jen Mein, and Kevin Smith) this person will help oversee the efforts of the pilot, technical migration, and training sub-projects. The team will meet regularly between now and the end of the initial migration phase in July. If interested, please inform Karen Swoverland (karenb@umn.edu).
