  • Request to Fill Vacancy ("Provost") forms are still required for all other hiring (Non-Instructional P&A, Civil Service, and Bargaining Unit)
  • Draft appointment renewal letters are now required for P&A Instructional BJ Term (Paid 9 over 12) employees

All CLA 2009/10 P&A Instructional and Term Faculty blanket postings were "Removed From Web" on June 30, 2010. Please change the status of each applicant as appropriate and close or cancel your 2009/10 blanket postings. 2010/11 blanket postings can be posted once the 2009/10 blankets are closed out.

Procedure:
1) Change status of each applicant as appropriate.
2) Request the posting be closed (hires made) or canceled (no hires made) through Personnel Specialist or OHR directly at
employ@umn.edu.
3) Once the 09/10 posting is closed or canceled you can easily create the 10/11 posting using the "Create From Previous" function.
4) If you would like to move certain applicants from the 09 to the 10 blanket, contact your Personnel Specialist, Millie Reid (
volkm003@umn.edu, 6-7648) or Tihara Chadwick (chadw025@umn.edu, 4-0098)

Faculty Searches, 2010/11

Faculty search authorization letters were distributed last week. Units authorized to search during 2010/11 are asked to adhere as closely as possibly to CLA's standard format when preparing faculty position requisitions in the online employment system. Sample requisitions for faculty positions are available on the Academic Recruitment and Hiring page of the Faculty website.  The college will place an omnibus, cluster-style print ad in the September 3rd Academic Year Kickoff issue of the Chronicle of Higher Education. To be included in the cluster ad, requisitions must be created in the online employment system and submitted to the college no later than Friday, August 20, 2010 (this is a two-week extension of the date announced in search authorization letters).
