P&A Promotion

P&A promotion dossiers for cases being considered during the 2010/11 academic year are due no later than Friday, March 4, 2011.. Dossiers must be submitted electronically by unit administrators, via the CLA projects drive.

P&A Professional Development Leaves

Applications for P&A professional development leaves to be taken during fall 2011 are also due to the CLA Office of Human Resources no later than Friday, March 4, 2011. Applications must be submitted electronically to the CLA HR email account at (clahr@umn.edu).

The Retirement Incentive Option (RIO) informational session has been rescheduled for Friday, March 4, from 10-11 a.m., in the Coffman Memorial Union Theater.

Due to a storm that occurred on February 21, the Retirement Incentive Option (RIO) informational session has been rescheduled for Friday, March 4, from 10-11 a.m., in the Coffman Memorial Union Theater. If you are unable to attend in person, this session will be broadcast through UMConnect. For more information or to check system requirements for participating online, go to the University of Minnesota OHR benefits event website. A recorded version of the RIO presentation will be posted online at University of Minnesota OHR benefits event website through May 15.

RIO is an opportunity for voluntary retirement for eligible employees; this program was approved by the Regents on February 11. Faculty, P&A, Civil Service, Union Represented, and University employees enrolled in Federal health benefits may enroll in the program beginning February 15 through May 15, 2011. All faculty and staff employees who elect to participate in RIO must retire at a date mutually acceptable to the employee and his/her unit, but no later than January 11, 2012.

The College invites nominations for this year's CLA "Red" Motley teaching award. Faculty members must be nominated by at least five CLA undergraduate and/or graduate students.

A description of the award, nomination form, and dossier cover sheet may be downloaded (all are PDFs) on the CLA website or obtained from the CLA Undergraduate Programs Office, 115 Johnston Hall, (612) 624-8675.

Nomination Forms are due in 115 Johnston Hall by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011. The Undergraduate Programs Office will contact the home department of each nominated faculty member and will provide guidelines for preparing a complete nomination dossier. The department prepares the nomination dossier for the faculty member.

Dossiers are due in 115 Johnston Hall on Friday, April 1, 2011. Departments are asked to submit the original plus 9 copies.
