We had previously been notified by central payroll that checks returned to WBOB would be mailed out to the employee within the next couple of days. Apparently this was not intended to occur on a routine basis since we were recently informed that there is a policy in place stating that it is the responsibility of the departments to mail out the check. The policy states: "If an employee's paycheck is not picked up in the department, it is the department's responsibility to mail the check to the employee." See http://www1.umn.edu/ohr/
Going forward, please make every effort to pick up your manual paychecks in Donhowe during the stated hours on payday to avoid having to go to WBOB to pick them up. It is the unit's responsibility to mail the checks to the employee if they are not picked up by the employee. Your cooperation is appreciated.
