Community Fund Drive

We're just over halfway through the 2012 CFD and just over halfway to our CLA goal. As of Monday CLA participation is at 18.86% and over $59,000 has been pledged to help people in our communities! Have you made your pledge yet? Go to and make your one-time or recurring financial commitment to help a person in need.

Attend one of our FUNdraising events (emphasis on "fun")! They are open to all faculty and staff in CLA, and there will be computers set up at each event so you can make your pledge on the spot.

Chili Cook-Off - 10/24, 12-1:30 pm, $3 suggested donation
Would you like to participate as a "Chili Champion" and bring a crockpot of chili? Awards will be presented for the "People's Choice" (the chili that receives the most votes), and there is also a "Dean's Choice" award presented by Associate Dean Gary Oehlert.

Register your chili by Monday, October 22. Colleen Ware will contact you with details.

Questions? Contact Colleen Ware at or 6-5927.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dare - 10/31, 2-3 pm, $2 suggested donation
Perhaps chocolate chip cooking baking is more your thing. Assistant Dean Nanette Hanks dares you to make a chocolate chip cookie better than hers. An award will be made for the "People's Choice and Reigning Cookie Champion" (i.e., the cookie that receives the most votes).

Register your cookie by Monday, October 29. Entrants, please bring your cookies to the lobby of Johnston Hall by 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31.

Questions? Contact Angie Plambeck at or 5-1805.

CLA thanks you for your commitment to support people in our communities!
