The following message is from Lisa Bachman, HR Director:
I am pleased to share that Natalia Rieland and Susan Schultz will be joining the CLA human resources team shortly.
Natalia starts this Monday, November 19th. She currently serves as the HR Manager at Courage Center and has many years of prior HR experience with Medtronic and the Dayton Hudson Corporation. Natalia obtained her master's degree in human resources from our own Carlson School of Management. She is well versed in a broad range of HR practice areas including the field of organizational effectiveness with an emphasis on employee engagement. In addition to 'fluency' in HR, she is fluent in Ukrainian and conversational in Spanish and French.
Susan joins us on Monday, December 10th. Susan is relocating to the Twin Cities from the Morris area, where she serves as the Human Resources Director for Big Stone County. Susan's master's degree is from the U of M, Duluth, in education with an emphasis in HR areas of training and development as well as diversity. She worked for the U of M on our Morris campus in the student employment area for a number of years, so brings an understanding of the unique academic environment to her role.
We are thrilled to have Susan and Natalia joining us as our new Sr. HR Consultants. I wish to extend my appreciation to the search committee for their thoughtful work: Carl Brandt, Program Director, CLA Student Services (Chair); Scott Elton, Assistant to the Associate Dean for Planning; Laura Gurak, Chair, Writing Studies; Jamey Hansen, CLA Chief Information Officer; Deb Karner, HR Director, CFANS; Barbara London, Administrative Director, Global Studies; Katie Louis, Assistant to the Chair, Political Science; and Kara Tacheny, CLA Administration (committee staff).
Also on a recruitment note, our search will begin soon for an HR Specialist. Please watch for that posting to go live shortly - we appreciate your referrals of any qualified candidates.
My sincere thanks goes out to you for your patience during this time of high transition. As our team continues to grow, I look forward to visiting all of the units and meeting everyone.
