DASH: DIgital Arts Sciences + Humanities Kick-Off Event

The University Libraries are excited to announce the first in a new series of monthly events, organized by the DASH (Digital Arts, Sciences, and Humanities) Initiative. DASH aims to bring together students, faculty, and staff from across disciplines and campuses, in order to promote innovative tools and methods for scholarly, pedagogical, and creative projects, including:

  • Text and data mining

  • Digital archives

  • GIS and spatial research

  • Data visualization and arts

  • Digital storytelling

  • Mobile app development

  • Multimodal scholarship

  • Digital archives

  • Critical code and algorithm studies

When: Wednesday, October 2 at 3:30pm

Come learn more about DASH, hear about the events and projects we have planned for the year, learn how to start your own research projects or incorporate these ideas into your classrooms, and meet others interested in building these interdisciplinary digital projects.

Annual Review Committee

CLA HR is seeking volunteers to serve on a committee to provide input on the new annual review format.   

In the FY14 compensation pay plan, President Kaler communicated his intention to have all of the University's colleges and administrative units operating in a merit-based pay system by June 2015. This means that CLA needs a new performance review format which includes overall ratings to allow for distribution of merit based pay.  All CLA Civil Service and labor represented employees will be expected to use the new format with the option to use for P&A staff. The new review format is to be in place by this spring for use with the next (2013-2014) review cycle.

We are looking for up to 6 representatives (2 from each employee group: CS, LR & PA) to join CLA HR in drafting a new review format. We anticipate meeting 2x month, October through January.  Please send an e-mail to if you are interested in participating in this committee.

FedEx Electronic Billing Enrollment, Change or Cancellation

A form exists in the UWide Forms Library to enroll, change, or cancel your unit's participation in the FedEx electronic billing program.  The electronic process eliminates the need to process paper invoices/vouchers.  Below is the link to the form.
