  • Award: The Fund has a total of about £2,000 each year to award, the maximum grant being £500.
  • Deadline: Applications (twelve copies) must be submitted by the Friday in the first full week of January in the year of application for consideration in March at which time grants will be available for successful applicants.
  • Details: The income is to be applied for 'the provision of a travelling scholarship or travelling scholarships in archaeology or otherwise for the promotion of antiquarian studies.' Applications are considered by the Research Committee. In making their decisions the committee will be putting weight on the reasons for the application, its viability (practical and financial) and its eventual contribution to scholarship. Preference will be given to those who have not already received a grant from this Fund. Awards will not normally be made to support work for a university degree.
