Bohemian Press

I was most interested in the piece titled, "Early Minneapolis" in the Bohemian Press exhibit. It was a print piece that had a very small color pallet - less than 5. I really liked the simplicity of the piece and the bold, bright colors. There was a very distinct horizon line that sloped right through the upper third of the print and made for a strong focal point. The composition and shapes of the piece were simpler than any other piece in the gallery and this is what drew me in. There was no shading with the exception of a sketch on the bottom and this also intrigued me. I really like to see art that can emphasize simplicity and have such strong visual impact.
