Regis Exhibition

In one of the Regis exhibitions this year, I remember seeing a display by Sarah Renk. It was a collection of photographs that were black and white in square format. I was so drawn to the photographs because the people in the photographs and the poses looked so natural and real to me. I feel like I see too many photos where the poses are very staged and so are their environments. In her pictures, she featured 6 people with their dogs. Each person and their dog seemed to have a story and they looked as if the people and their dogs were very attached to one another. Everything about the piece was raw and earthy which really appealed to me. Portrait photography is something that interests me and I like seeing work that influences and inspires me.
