This is the editing of footage and sounds a friend and I created. I was trying to explore a balance between environmental and musical sounds as well as abstract and specific video. I also played around with in camera effects and filters, using physical lenses and filters rather than digital. In regards to the relationship between the technology and the aesthetic, I also utilized the fluctuations and tracking issues with the VHS as well as scratched and irregular plastic lenses.
The name of the video is "Second Aje" and I drew and scanned all of the titles. I hoped to make them immediately illegible to focus viewers on the form and beauty of the words and numbers rather than the information contained within them. I suppose that concept is relevant to the whole project.
