Elizabeth Pudwil
Representing Woman, 2007

Elizabeth  works in intaglio here to play with food industry forms and converts them into woman's anatomy. The most appealing part was the value she achieved, which is a difficult result for printmakers. Well developed forms and highly conceptual approach are the other strong elements of her work. Old style weighing machine becomes pelvic bone in her print and so do fruits too..become forms to convey a woman's traditional role of maintaining a kitchen. She does not use any aggressive techniques or lines to represent a woman's power, basically the concept and the handling honors it to the piece.
