Documenting China

I found the Documenting China art exhibit to be quite fascinating. The social change that the Chinese have faced seems rather remarkable. What most of the western world accomplished in more than a century, the Chinese did in just a few decades. I feel that the Chinese have modernized their country in a spectacular way that can be marveled by others. It was interesting to look at all of the artwork that illustrated how some Chinese lived in their homes. I enjoyed seeing the contrast between the various environments where they lived. Some had very traditional Chinese surroundings while others had unique backgrounds. I noticed one that had many calendars with Caucasian pictures featured on them. Overall, I thought all the art together gave a neat illustration of the social change throughout China. It represents this change in an abstract way that is appealing because it takes the form of art.
