Upload your video

I put my video on Media Mill, and it was easy.

You might find these notes helpful:

- Visit Media Mill at http://mediamill.cla.umn.edu
- Click upload video
- Log in with your regular Internet ID & password
- Media Mill gives you a temporary username & password. Take note of these.
- Follow the instructions on screen to download & use the handy uploader.
- Upload your video (see the instructions #3 on your screen)
- Click the gear icon to enter details, such as the name of your movie, a short description, credits and copyright
- Use the function called “add derivative� to make compressed versions of your movie that friends & family can download!

I tried the process of making a compressed version of my video (add derivative) and was pleased to see it compress my 700+ MB video down to 24 MB. I used the Quicktime 7 large conversion (640 x 480), and it still retains decent quality.

I did notice that Mediamill displays the link to this new compressed version better than the original. I was able to get the link to my original by right clicking the "Download Original" button and selecting 'Copy Link.'
