Leyendecker 2008

The sky is a pretty good place to be, because wherever you are, you just have to look up and you know it will be there.

This is where I soak my beautiful body

I get really excited whenever I am in one of these seats because it usually means that I'm going to a new place. Also, I am one of the few and the proud who actually do appreciate airline cuisine.
the empty volume that we occupy is just as essential as the physical objects. Maps are images that help to understand the relationships among the spaces we occupy. When anybody creates anything, a drawing or a building, the emptiness that was once there no longer exists. My paintings convert these real spatial connections into relationships of line, shape, and color.

I love visiting the badlands of North Dakota. They still feel wild and remote, and bison and wild horses might wander through your camp.

A little closer to home ... my porch in Minneapolis, where I drink tea and soak up sunshine when I can.

Northern Minnesota is a special place for my family. How typically Minnesotan of me, eh?
