Jewish Literature Discussion Series

Jewish Literature Discussion Series
The University of Minnesota Libraries, partnering with Friends of Saint Paul Public Libraries have received a grant from the American Library Association (ALA) to sponsor a free five-part reading and discussion series called "Let's Talk About It: Jewish Literature - Identity and Imagination." The series, developed by ALA and Nextbook ("A Gateway to Jewish Literature, Culture and Ideas"), explores Jewish literature and culture through scholar-led discussions of contemporary and classic books on a common theme. Professor Maria Damon, faculty member in the University of Minnesota's Center for Jewish Studies, will lead the five discussions, which will explore the theme "Your Heart's Desire: Sex and Love in Jewish Literature". All five events will be held in July 2007 at the Saint Paul Public Library Highland Park branch.
