Group 1 - Week 13
Every team working towards a common goal has experienced some sort of conflict. Conflicts are important obstacles teams must resolve to efficiently meet their team’s goal. A clash can cause an entire group to become dysfunctional, which ultimately put a burden on cohesiveness, productivity, and agreement. Groups that experience disagreements must identify the source of the problem and address the issue to correct group cooperation. All problems that occur during a group’s process need to be evaluated and assessed by the team to insure goals are kept and communication is adequate.
The MBTI types of group one is very diverse. Not one member shares the same MBTI type as another group member. Here are the MBTI types for the members of group 1: Turry (E N F J), Slava (E N F P), Callie (E N T J), William (E S T J), Rachel (E S F J), and Urban (I S T P). Our group is pretty much split down the middle in every personality type except the introvert and extrovert aspect. Urban is the only member on our team that is an introvert, which keeps us open minded and not so fast acting. Introvert is the only function pair that is not commonly represented within our team. This might be influencing the process by the way certain members direct their energy and attention. Extraverts work better by talking problems out with other members, while introverts work better alone. In a VT, extraverts might have a more difficult time with the group process because of the lack of communication or limited relationships in the team. No one in group 1 is the “odd man out. The past few weeks our group has struggled with communication and cooperation. I will not point the finger or label and group member as the direct cause, but as the semester progresses the group should become stronger, instead of slightly falling apart.
