Group 3, Week 12
This week our group met on-line and discussed our timeline for the final project. In addition, we discussed and assigned specific tasks to each member. Some members spoke up right away, telling us their strengths and what sections they would like to do. This shows we have many leaders in our group that are willing to help the team with what they can. You can tell we all respect and trust everyone in the team. You have to definitely have that trust when you have to get a huge project/presentation prepared like we have to. We have to trust people will get their parts done by the deadlines we set. Kirkpatrick’s Leadership Article was what we read for this week. That article touched on the six traits how leaders differ. It also went over the power motives that are socialized and personalized. Honesty and Integrity were other key terms in the article and the significance of them is what was looked at. Kirkpatrick felt that these two qualities are what need to be involved in leadership. We had a class discussion this week on whether honesty and integrity are important. Our team seemed to feel that integrity was more important in leadership than honesty. Lastly, we found out how important leadership is especially on virtual teams. Virtual teams need leadership to stay connected and organized.
