Group 4

Our personality types:
Heather – IN F/T J
Rocky - ESTJ
Jack - ESTP
John - ISTP
Brian – IS T/F P

Q1. How diverse or similar are the MBTI types of each member on your team?
We have 3 introverts and 2 extroverts, 4 sensing and 1 intuitive, all thinking (2 of us are equal T/F), and 3 perceiving and 2 judging. We are all different which makes for a dynamic team, yet we still have some similarities which makes us not clash completely.

Q2. Which of the function pairs have more representation on the team and which have less or none? How might this be impacting team processes?
We have 4 STs and 1 NT. (But keep in mind there are the 2 equal F/Ts). This means that we all have similar ways of dealing with conflict, which is good because we don’t really argue and we resolve our conflicts well. This is also probably why we do have a pretty coherent team. Since these function pairs are similar we work well together and maybe even kind of intuitively understand our team member’s work and communication styles.

Q3. Is anyone on the team the "odd man out?" How has the team handled this?

The only “odd man out we have is me (Heather) as the only N. This means that I see the big picture more than individual parts, think about new possibilities, trust impressions and “read between the lines. My team members on the other hand are S’s, which mean they look at the facts, trust experience, and look to the bottom line. This is actually really helpful for our team because Rocky, Brian, Jack, and John are all good about getting individual tasks done when they are due, and kind of working on the project piece by piece. I help to remind our team of the whole project and try to bring fresh ideas.

Our personality types are actually a good combination and mesh well together as a team.
