Olympic skier and World Cup champion from Burnsville, Lindsey Vonn, owes $1.7 in federal taxes from 2010, KARE 11 reported.

Vonn has been going through a divorce with Thomas Vonn, who was also her coach. She has had many high-profile sponsors such as Red Bull, Rolex and Under Armour.

The IRS filed a tax lien for $1,705,437 against Vonn and her husband on April 2 with the Elko County Recorder in Nevada, the Detroit News reported.

Vonn has promised to pay the tax bill.

She credited her marital troubles and financial for her being unaware of the bill until now.

"This matter was only recently brought to my attention and I took immediate and deliberate steps to remedy the situation," Vonn said in an email. "I have made arrangements to pay in full the balance due."

The bill is from the 2010 fiscal year, when Vonn won gold in the Vancouver olympics.
