Is racial profiling (like in airports) ok?
I'm undecided on this. On one hand, it's blatant discrimination. On the other hand, it's completely logical. After all, if you put up a picture of every hijacker or those who have attempted to hijack, you'll notice a trend. Lets just say the group of people displayed wouldn't be very diverse.
This has troubled me for a while. Where do you draw the line? It should be clear to everyone that not every person of middle-eastern decent is going to try to hijack a plane. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find someone who plans on hijacking a plane no matter who you focus on. It has nothing to do with a specific race or region that is out to get us. The people who do such things just happen to be from the middle east. This could have happened with any other race. However, now that it has happened, shouldn't we use our knowledge we've gained, knowing the racial decent of our enemies? I really can't decide. I need help with this one.
