absent
Hi people. So, I'm in the midst of exams and other such things and have a few days more of being relatively busy. Hence the temporary disappearance. When I have more time I'd like to return to the integrity/dignity conversation, I think that we could really get something interesting going there, we'll call it the Minnesota Symposium on Integrity, and we'll have guest contributors and some panel discussions and afterwards a reception with cheese and grapes. But at present I haven't really thought about the best way to stucture these scintillating integrity-related questions. But if anyone has anything spontaneous they'd like to say about that topic that's fine.

I am assuming we'll be discussing *personal integrity* as opposed to, say---the body "integrity" of a car. Or, is the word being used with the same meaning here?

as I left things unstructured for the present, talk about whatever you want to talk about. If you have the burning desire to comment on structural integrity of inanimate objects, then go right ahead....

at our receptions here at pitt we usually end up with tiny cubes of muenster, cheddar, and monteray jack--with red grapes, and club crackers.

The last Symposium I went to (right here in sunny Minnesota, no less, that's right, I said "sunny") had the *best* chocolate chip cookies I have ever eaten. Ever.
I think it helps with the intellectualizing, a good chocolate chip cookie, really I do.

You know I've had a lot of food catered to various talks, events, conferences...but nothing that really blew my socks off. The cookies are fine but just kind of generic. What to avoid: Baklava. (did i spell that right?) Too heavy, too greasy...the regret of its ingestion burdens both the body and mind.
