The Complex Worlds of Children..
I found it interesting in how someone could do a study 21 children and make conclusions off of them. There are just sooo many different factors that the researcher can miss that can make a big deal in the perception of how the kids may be catergorized. The enviroment that the kids are brought up in differ so much just by having a different number of siblings, how much time their parents spend with them, what school they go to, their personalities, ect. I don't think the experiement was a good reprensentation of how the children's attitudes are to the opposite sex. Maybe one bad experience sparked the child's disgust in the opposite sex and it has nothing to do with the parents. How would the researcher find that to be the cause if they child did not come out and say it. Kids act differently when they are being interviewed rather than just being observed. Although I do agree with the idea that kids learn a great deal from their peers and at home. It would be hard for them to figure out for themselves what is right or wrong. I know I am glad that my parents guided me with out that I would just be lost and confused. Children need boundaries just as adults do.
