University Suites Outside Doors

Dear Suites Residents,

One important notice: Beginning tomorrow (Monday, January 21st) the University Suites outside doors will be locked according to the following schedule:

1. Outside doors will unlock at 7:00 AM, Monday-Friday.

2. Doors will automatically lock at 8:00 PM each week night.

3. Doors are locked 24 hours per day on Saturdays and Sundays.

Your individual suite keys are used to unlock the outside doors. Please make sure to carry this key with you at all times.  Remember: Your first two lockouts are FREE, the third and fourth cost $10 each, and every lockout beyond that costs $25 each. 

All Halls Re-opening on January 13, 2013

Hello UMC Residential Life Students!

We hope that everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable winter break.  All halls officially open for returning students at 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 13, 2013.  Halls will open at 10:00 AM on the 13th for brand NEW students moving into the halls.  If you are a brand new student, please stop by the Centennial Hall front desk to pick-up your keys and check-in.  Students residing in the new University Suites: please look for an email from Residential Life on Monday, January 7th with up-to-date move-in information.We are looking forward to seeing all of you back on campus for Spring Semester! 

Winter Break Hall Closing

All UMC Residence Halls will close at 4:00 pm on Thursday, December 20th. If residents would like to stay over winter break, they must register at the Centennial Front Desk.  The cost is $12 per night. ($288 if they stay for all of winter break).

Information on New Residence Hall "University Suites"

The Office of Residential Life would like to know if you are interested in moving to the NEW "University Suites" for Spring semester 2013? If you would like to reserve a suite in the new residence hall, please contact Jen Schoenecker by email (schoe315@umn.edu) as soon as possible, as suites are going FAST!

Tours of the new residence hall are scheduled for this week- Tuesday, November 27, Wednesday, November 28, and Thursday, November 29; at 4:00 PM and again at 5:00 PM, on each day.  Please meet in the Centennial Lobby for the tours.

The "University Suites" will be available for students prior to spring semester.  New "University Suites" residents will be invited back to campus early- Thursday, January 10 - Saturday, January 12, for no additional charge.  Halls open for all returning students on Sunday, January 13, and classes begin on Monday, January 14.

Also, we anticipate single rooms will be available in McCall and Skyberg Halls, as students choose to move into the new hall.  The fee for a single room is an additional $899 per semester surcharge.  We are now taking requests for single rooms at the Centennial front desk.  Please stop by to reserve your single room!

We are looking forward to providing additional options for our students and hope you have had an enjoyable fall semester here at UMC.

Midnight Dodgeball Sign-Up

Come play midnight dodgeball in Lysaker Gym on Saturday, October 27! Teams of 6 need to be registered, so sign-up today at the Centennial Hall front desk. Prizes for the most creative: names, halloween costumes and winning team. Registration begins at 11:30 pm on the 27th. MUST BE BAREFOOT!

A Night of Scares at Res Life's "Red River Cemetary"

Open to the public! Weather permitting, on Wednesday, October 31st from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm, in the lawn north of the Centennial Hall will be the "Red River Cemetary", an outdoor spooky walk-through cemetery.

The cost is $2 for students (with student ID) or $4 for non-students/community members. There will be 1/2 off your admission with any non-perishable food item donated.
