Free Workshop - Leadership Renewal

MRAC has been an excellent resource for me in the past and they are hosting a workshop on Leadership renewal- I thought I would pass this opportunity along in case anybody was interested.

STEVE BARBERIO Thoughts on Leadership Renewal February 17, 2009 9:00am - 2:00pm Location: Minnesota Textile Center

Leaders spend countless hours learning how to develop audiences, the best ways to evaluate programs, best governance practices and how to balance a budget. But what are the needs of the leader? What do leaders need to remain focused with a sense of vitality that extends into the community? How much time is spent considering oneself within the context of this work?

This year MRAC has scheduled trainings with a focus on leadership development. Don't miss this opportunity to strengthen your leadership skills and increase your commitment to the arts organization you love. Steve Barberio brings experience and expertise that will help you grow in your leadership role. He is the former president of Minnesota Citizens for the Arts and the American Alliance for Theatre and Education, and is a current partner with The Directors, LLP, a firm that provides strategic and creative consultation in the arts. He served as the Artistic Director of Stages Theatre Company for 17 years, continues to serve as a consultant with the James P. Shannon Leadership Institute, and has provided professional development programs and counsel to nonprofit executives across the United States.

Lunch will be provided for this workshop. Please register by Monday, February 9, so that we have an accurate count.

Thanks, jamie. What more can you tell us about the presenter?

Steve Barbario, a former UMN alumn, has been an active leader in the arts community for several decades. In addition to the info above, you can also view his profile on linked in. There was an article about him a few years ago in the Lakeshore Weekly News when he departed from Stages Theatre Company.
