Shelving and Book Return Reminders

Hello Everyone!

Here are some friendly reminders about shelving and working in the book return:

  1. When assigned a floor for shelving, please take books from the oldest truck first then the fullest shelf. And don't forget to shelve the quartos and folios as well!
  2. Don't forget to fill out a shelving slip every time you start a new truck. Make sure to circle the number of shelves using 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, or whole numbers. Do not use 1/8, 1/3, or any other type of fraction. Also make sure write in the time/date you shelved the truck and please leave your initials.
  3. You should be able to shelve 2 brown truck shelves in one hour. If you do not finish truck in your assigned hour please let us know.
  4. If scheduled for book return, deliveries, or Minitex deliveries, and you do not finish in you assigned hour please let us know as well.
  5. When scheduled for the book return, please grab any books that are on the return table just outside the book return room and the two return trucks behind the circulation desk.
Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Badge Amnesty Day

Monday, August 17th, CRSS is having an Amnesty Day for anyone who has taken home a library badge, and forgotten to bring it back.  If you have one laying around on dresser, or on your refrigerator, and meant to bring it is the time.  You can attach it anywhere on the area we keep the badges in the Annex.

Periodical Room Shelving

A couple of Periodical Room tips:

~Please do not shelve any materials(bounds, unbounds, mfilm) that does not already have others of the same title on the shelf. If you happen to come across one of these items, please put them on the appropriate problem shelf in the Reserve/Periodicals office.

~Remember not to shelve outside of the metal bookends. Along with this if you find a title that doesn't have metal bookend, please add one. The metal bookends are found hanging between the rows of shelving.

~When shelving microfilm please make sure that they are put in order with in the alligator box. Also, please do not put reel boxes on the shelf if they do not have a corresponding alligator box. Instead put them on the microfilm problem shelf in the Reserve/Periodicals office.

~All shelving slips and room pickup forms have relocated to the Annex Office.
Over all the room is looking really good, so lets keep it up!

WOW Award for August

It is time once again to announce the Wow Award recipient. The Wow Award is given out every other month to a student in CRSS who stands out to the supervisors because of their dedication, initiative or simply because they did something great.

August's recipient of the Wow Award is Marge. Marge has helped us out tremendously this summer, in addition to helping by using the replacement sheet, she has helped out the unit in numerous ways. Congrats Marge!!
